Complaints & copyright
Lector lets people import and store their own books, articles, and podcasts to read and study. That content is private to each account — it isn't published or shared — but if you believe something on Lector infringes your rights, or you need to report abuse, here's how to reach us.
Short version. For a copyright / DMCA takedown, email our designated agent at [email protected]. For anything else, email [email protected].
Copyright & DMCA takedowns
If you're the rights holder (or authorised to act for one) and believe material on Lector infringes your copyright, email our designated agent at [email protected]. So we can act quickly, please include:
- identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed;
- identification of the material in question and enough information for us to locate it (for example, the account email it relates to);
- your contact details — name, email, and address;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you're authorised to act for the rights holder; and
- your physical or electronic signature.
We review every notice and remove or disable access to infringing material where a report is valid. Because content on Lector is private per user rather than publicly hosted, we'll weigh that context when we respond.
Counter-notice
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, email [email protected] with a counter-notice that identifies the material, your contact details, and a statement — under penalty of perjury — that you have a good-faith belief it was removed in error.
